No More Bottles

It was a pleasure dealing with Adam and Philippa. They made the process really straightforward and explained the various sections clearly.

It is crystal clear they have a great understanding and are very passionate about helping companies on their journey.

The experience has helped raise awareness across our staff, operations and made us all strive to improve procedures and deliver best practice.

Can’t recommend highly enough.

Overview of No More Bottles

No More Bottles are redefining the UAE’s drinking habits and providing water that doesn’t cost the Earth. By combining market leading technology with world class customer service, they offer the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to consume water that allows you to say goodbye to single use plastic bottles forever.

With a shared ethos for sustainability, they engaged NCZ to support their journey to net zero. Working together, NCZ has held their hand to credibly understand their full carbon footprint and the associated emissions drivers. Then using this baseline, a targeted carbon reduction strategy has been implemented to maximise success and measure progress.

Phase 1

Establishing the baseline

(ISO 14064 organisational carbon footprint report)
NCZ Gold Certification: Establish a complete organisational and operational carbon footprint for the business to drive emission reductions and cost savings throughout the organisation and the services it provides.

Scope 2

Scope 3

Phase 2 Initial assessment and solutions (quick wins)

Using the reported baseline, NCZ assessed the emission drivers and recommended solutions to implement that would significantly reduce carbon emissions and costs, including:

  • Switching to renewable energy tariffs to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels and increase awareness initiatives to reduce energy consumption within the premises.
  • Supply-chain procurement assessment to investigate the potential for buying and/ or delivery profile efficiencies.
  • The use of optimal travel routing, driver behaviour training and limiting unnecessary business travel wherever possible and appropriate.
  • Efficiencies with employee commuting; encouraging less emissions intensive modes of transport, including hybrid or electric vehicles, public transport where available, undertaking active commuting if feasible and distances allow, and adopting car-sharing initiatives to reduce single-person vehicle use.

Phase 3

Carbon reduction strategy

(the mid-term targets)
Once Phase 2 is complete, NCZ use the baseline footprint to map out a tailored strategy to reduce the business’ carbon emissions on its journey to net zero. Throughout this process NCZ guides and facilitates the relevant expertise required from our approved Partner Directory to ensure the lowest impact of products/ services.

No More Bottles often helps their customers on their first step towards their sustainability goals. Therefore, it’s extremely important to them to be setting a great example and walking the walk. To date, they’ve worked through the quick wins suggested by NCZ and have seen great results from optimising their route plans to ensure smart and efficient use of time in each geographical location across the UAE. Combining this with insights into their carbon footprint, has proven incredibly valuable as more and more customers are now asking them questions around ESG. Specifically, how they are measuring their sustainability and then managing their carbon footprint, so having this level of detail to hand and being able to provide it quickly has been very beneficial. Looking ahead to 2025, they will be partnering with sustainable digital marketers and reducing the carbon footprint associated with their website. Both of which, weren’t even on their radar prior to starting this process, despite being entrenched in sustainability as a business. Getting into the real details with this annual emissions audit, has opened their eyes to tangible changes that can be implemented gradually to keep them progressing towards their overall goal, and means their offset emissions are becoming smaller every year as their impact on the environment is lowered.
